My Classroom

Welcome to Smith's Safari!

Classroom Conduct:  We are required in my district to give conduct grades.  Everyone starts each day off on Ready to Learn.  We can move our clip up and down depending on how we are doing.  At the end of the day the clips are recorded.  At the end of the week, I average the daily grades to get a weekly grade.  Parents get a weekly report home on Friday.  You can download my conduct chart templates under the freebie tab.

I like to come in each morning and have everything for the day ready to go.  Each bin has everything we need for the day in one spot.  Copies, books, flashcards, and games for each day are in the daily bin. It also makes it super easy when I am out unexpectedly.  My teacher friends can easily find anything in my plans for the sub.  You can download the drawer labels for free under my freebie tab.  It comes in safari theme and also colorful kids.

It wouldn't be the first day of school without a huge pile of leftover supplies that haven't gotten put away just yet!  I'm just glad the kids brought in so much stuff!

No Name Papers?  Not in this classroom!  Who would have thought that a bucket full of highlighters would make NO NAMES a thing of the past?  Give it a shot and I'm sure it will help this dreaded teacher problem!

BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS, and more BOOKS!  Did I mention that I love books?  This is my teacher library.  These are the class sets and tradebooks that I use for instruction.  It has taken me many years to build this collection!

Well that is about all the pictures I have for this years reveal.  I hope you have a wonderful year full of lots of learning, excitement, and happiness!

HAPPY TEACHING!
